Safety & Security

Pinch-Resistant
altThe WayneGard™ pinch-resistant garage door design is engineered to help eliminate injuries caused when fingers are caught in door panel joints during downward operation. This is an important feature to Wayne-Dalton doors, as there are significant injuries associated with standard garage door operation. WayneGard™ doors are designed to eliminate this problem. The shape of the contact point between two door panel sections is designed to push fingers away as the door closes, preventing any opportunity for fingers to get caught in the door joint.

Laser Sensors
altA second major benefit to the Quantum™ opener is Quantum-Gard Wireless photo eyes - another industry advance exclusive to Wayne-Dalton Corp. Normal sensors have wires running from them to the opener's motor. Quantum-Gard photo eyes are wireless, so installation is greatly simplified because the need to drill through walls or run unsightly wiring is eliminated. But these sensors still perform the same important function, which is to transmit an infrared beam across the opening of the garage door. When that beam is broken by a child, a pet, or any object, the closing garage door automatically reverses to the open position.

Automatic Reverse
altaltTo provide further safety, a contact reversing mechanism is connected to the bottom of the door. This will signal the door to reverse if something actually comes into physical contact with the door. Additionally, a timer function automatically reverses the door to the open position should it not reach its down limit within 21 seconds.
